Nurse Educator Post-Masters Certificate (Online)
Admission is limited to the most qualified applicants.
Applicants shall:
- Hold a master's degree in nursing from an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited program.
- Provide evidence of current licensure(s) as a registered nurse and eligibility for licensure in Georgia. If the student expects to complete any clinical learning in the state, a Georgia RN license is required.
- Have graduated from their MSN program with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
An application is complete when all of the following have been submitted:
- Application form and non-refundable application fee: $35 online, $40 paper
- Two letters of reference from professionals who can speak to the applicant's experience and potential for success in master's studies using the SON Form Letter located on the web site.
- Official transcripts from all previous colleges/universities attended.
- Current résumé or curriculum vitae
- Statement of Professional Goals
- Onsite or monitored writing exercise.
- Copy of RN license and APRN license, if applicable.
Students will apply for a certificate (similar to applying for graduation). The certificate will appear on a student’s transcripts but the student will not receive a diploma or participate in commencement.

Supporting and Course Courses (14-23 semester hours)
Optional / If applying to DNP program
Total Credit Hours for Certificate Completion: 31 semester hours / 630 clinical hours
Certificate requirement: Minimum 11 semester hours of approved coursework must be earned from Georgia College.
