HIST 4950 / ANTH 4950 may only count for credit towards the certificate with a relevant topic of study, such as
- Jewish Foodways
- Food, History, and Culture of East Asia
- Alcohol in World History
- Feeding the Fire: Foodways in the Civil War Era
- Pitmastery: Race & Barbecue in the Slave South
- Trouble Brewing, Discord Distilled: Alcohol in the American Civil War Era
- Food and Culture: Anthropological Perspectives on Food and Nutrition

Courses used to fulfill certificate requirements may also be used to fulfill core, major, minor, or other program requirements.

Federal financial aid will not pay for a certificate course unless that course is also necessary to complete a student's required number of hours for the bachelor's degree or another bachelor's degree requirement.
