Music Precertification Minor
The music precertification minor is comprised of the prerequisite courses for the Master of Arts in Teaching: Music Education program. Students who complete the Bachelor of Arts in music along with the precertification minor can move directly into the MAT: Music Education degree program for initial teacher certification. There are three focus options in this minor: instrumental, choral, and elementary; students will complete one block to complete the minor. However, our students participate in field experiences in all three focus areas as educators certified in Music are in-field to teach specified Georgia music courses in grades P-12 as regulated by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Information about the Department of Music can be found on the department page.
