The study of humans as biological organisms. Topics include: genetics, speciation, adaptation, evolutionary theory, primatology, paleopathology, modern human variation, and others. This course is repeatable for credit.

Prerequisite: ANTH 1102 or ANTH 1104. An advanced course which covers the theories of the rise and fall of civilizations with case studies of ancient civilizations from around the world. This course is repeatable for credit. This course is equivalent to POLS 4600.

Prerequisite: ANTH 1102 or BIOL 1100 or BIOL 1107 or BIOL 1120. Critical examination of the role neotropical plant resources have played in the culture, economics, and history of Latin America and the world. This course is repeatable for credit.

Prequisite: Approval of the department chair. Investigation of a topic of special interest, with reports to the instructor.

Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. Consideration of topics in which courses are not otherwise offered, but for which there is a current need. This course is repeatable for credit.
