Our Mission

The Georgia College Office of Admissions is dedicated to providing accurate and timely university information to our prospective students and other target audiences while delivering a high level of customer service. In our recruitment and admission efforts, we partner with our divisional and campus colleagues to help make the student's enrollment process as seamless as possible.

Our Vision

The Admissions Office will serve as the frontline "face" and "voice" of Georgia College to promote its liberal arts mission to the public. Using traditional and innovative recruitment methods, we are committed to building relationships with prospective students, family members, and counselors in order to assist them in determining if Georgia College is an appropriate educational match for the student. The Office of Admissions will strive to shape and enroll diverse and academically talented classes that will continue to move GC to a level of prominence among the nation's top liberal arts colleges.

Our Welcome Center is housed in the University Museum at 221 North Clarke Street. Campus tours are offered on weekdays and Saturdays (except holiday and special event weekends), when the university is in session. Reservations are required. Tour reservations can be made online or by contacting the Office of Admissions.

The Georgia College Office of Admissions is located in the historic Newell-Watts House (c. 1825), at 201 South Clarke Street. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Telephone, (478) 445-2774; or toll-free, 1-800-342-0471.

The admission policy of Georgia College (GC) is to accept those applicants who provide evidence of a high potential for success at the university. A potential student is considered for admission without regard to race, creed, sex, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, age or national origin. All documents submitted for admission to Georgia College become the property of the university.

Admission to GC is not a guarantee of admission to a particular college or major. Separate and sometimes higher requirements for admission into a college or major are described in this Catalog.

Acceptance or denial of each applicant is determined by the Office of Admissions and/or the Office of the Registrar, subject to the right of appeal as outlined by the university and as provided by the bylaws of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. If necessary, an applicant should contact the Admissions Office regarding details of the appeals procedure.
