Prerequisite: ENGL 2208, admission to the English/Creative Writing Major, or permission of the instructor. A practical study of the techniques and craft of creative writing with an emphasis on multiple genres.
Prerequisite: ENGL 2208 or permission of instructor. A practical study of the techniques and craft of scriptwriting (for both stage and screen); ENGL 3011 is the prerequisite for ENGL 4011 Scriptwriting Workshop.
Prerequisite: ENGL 2208 or permission of instructor. A practical study of the techniques and craft of creative nonfiction writing (personal essay, memoir, and other forms); ENGL 3012 is the prerequisite for ENGL 4012 Creative Nonfiction Workshop.
Prerequisite: ENGL 2208 or permission of instructor. A practical study of the techniques and craft of poetry writing (both formal and free verse); ENGL 3021 is the prerequisite for ENGL 4021 Poetry Workshop and also the Senior Capstone class option ENGL 4013 Poetry Translation.
Prerequisite: ENGL 2208 or permission of instructor. A practical study of the techniques and craft of fiction writing (emphasis on short fiction); ENGL 3022 is the prerequisite for ENGL 4022 Fiction Workshop.
Prerequisite: ENGL 2200 or permission of the chairperson. A course studying a variety of critical approaches to selected literary texts. Required for graduation with literature concentration.
