HSCS 2200 Intro to Health Professions

This is an introductory course on careers in the health profession. Topics covered include: issues in healthcare professions; nursing; public health; human services; exercise science and athletic training professions. Other general areas regarding healthcare careers are also explored.

HSCS 2813 Anatomy of Human Movement

The analysis of functional anatomy of the human body related to human movement as revealed by gross and cellular examination. Laboratory experiences will emphasize anatomical models, online software and resources, and palpations of relevant structures of human movement.

HSCS 2823 Physiology of Human Movement

The analysis and functioning of body tissues, organs and systems, stressed through microscopic, developmental and physiological processes of human life. Laboratory experiences will utilize online software/resources and examination of relevant human physiology processes related to health and disease.

HSCS 3993 Special Topics

Prerequisite: Department approval. A discussion of selected topics in Kinesiology focused on community health, exercise science, athletic training, outdoor education or physical education. Topics and instructor will vary. Clinical, service, or field components may be required.

HSCS 3995 Global Health Field Experience

These experiences are designed to be the field experience course in the Global Health Studies minor. Students are expected to use the principles of service-learning to engage with community members, groups and organizations to apply their academic training in a real world setting. The setting is a developing country without adequate health care or basic infrastructure. This course is repeatable for credit.
