Degree Requirements
Area F (18 semester hours)
(Art majors are required to complete all courses in Area F. Any transfer student who has not completed the courses in Area F, or their equivalents, must take these courses at GC)
Concentration Requirements (24 semester hours)
Complete eight of the following, including two internships. With the exception of ARTS 2400, ARTS 3400, ARTS 4400 and ARTS 4420, an additional ARTS 4950, ARTS 4960, and ARTS 4970 may be substituted, or used under "Electives" below:
Museum Studies Capstone (6 semester hours)
Cognate Area (12 semester hours)
Complete four 4000-level classes in Art History including one Non-Western Art History course. The following are recommended but substitutions are allowed:
Foreign Language Requirements (3-12 semester hours)
Students must demonstrate minimum proficiency at the level of the fourth university course (2002) in one foreign language.
Electives (9-12 semester hours)
Students are strongly encouraged to use their elective hours to develop a minor concentration in another field related to their career aspirations or chose a secondary area in art (Studio, Art History). It is strongly recommended that students take ARTS 2620 Digital I: Digital Print and additional Art History classes to fulfill elective semester hours.
