Mission:
The Nonprofit Leadership and Management Graduate Certificate Program prepare students to successfully lead and manage their nonprofit organization and navigate the nonprofit environment. The program combines academic rigor and skill set training to enhance the performance of those currently working in the nonprofit sector. It also sets a solid foundation for master's degree students about to enter the field.

Upon completion of the course, students will have a rich understanding of the nonprofit sector, as well as the skills and leadership capacity required to effectively navigate the unique challenges of making a social impact in today’s world. Students will go on to effectively lead organizations that make a difference – service delivery nonprofits, advocacy organizations, social enterprises, or philanthropic institutions.

Admission Requirements:
Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a college accredited by the proper regional accrediting association and have graduated from their college with at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must complete a formal GCSU Graduate application with fees, official transcripts of all academic work, current resume, and statement of professional goals.

Academic Dismissal Policy:
It is very important for graduate students to be aware of the need and requirements for good academic standing. A graduate student will be placed on graduate academic probation if the student's institutional graduate grade point average falls below a 3.00 at any point during his or her graduate studies. Students must have a grade point average of 3.00 to graduate. Failing a course will also cause one to be dismissed. The academic policy section should be consulted for more detailed information about the academic grade point average and the academic standing policy.

Online Course Fees:
All online programs are programs in which 95% or more of the program’s class contact time is through an online delivery method, and may be associated with differential tuition rates.

Program of Study:
The program requires 12 credit hours. Nonprofit Leadership and Management Certificate courses can be taken independently of the Master of Public Administration, or can be applied to the MPA degree program as electives that will provide curricular focus in nonprofit management.
