Additional Minor Requirements

Satisfactorily complete all minor requirements listed in the academic policies section of this catalog.

Earn a grade of C or higher in all minor courses.

10 credits in residency: GC, any study abroad, AP/IB courses count towards this requirement 

SPAN 3010 and SPAN 3020 count toward the three 3000-4000 level SPAN courses and are prerequisites for most other 3000-4000 level courses. 

Students for whom SPAN 2001, SPAN 2002, SPAN 3010, or SPAN 3020 are “waived due to language proficiency at a higher level” as demonstrated by the CAPE Placement exam must still complete three 3000- or 4000-level courses beyond SPAN 3010 and SPAN 3020.

Students who place out of SPAN 2001 or SPAN 2002 and wish to receive academic credit for SPAN 2001 or SPAN 2002 should take the CLEP exam.

Students who place out of SPAN 3010 or SPAN 3020 and wish to receive academic credit for SPAN 3010 or SPAN 3020 should request a “course challenge” by contacting the department.
