FINC 6641 Financial Management

Prerequisite: ACCT 6601. This course introduces the concepts of financial management. The primary concerns are the responsibilities of a financial manager, and the investment (capital budgeting) and financing (capital structure) decisions of the business. The approach taken to understanding how to effectively make these decisions is the analysis of risk and return, and the creation of value through cash flow. A secondary objective is to develop an understanding of the capital markets and their participants, and to understand the role of financial products in the decision process.
